The Public Relations Consultants Association is the voice of PR consultancies in the UK. The trade association was set up in 1969 and now represents 70 per cent of the country's public relations consultancies. The PRCA provides a forum for government and other public bodies and associations to talk to public relations consultants, and represents the views of its members to the DTI and other bodies. It also aims to represent the sector in the media. Members have to meet strict entry criteria and are bound by codes of practice and the Consultancy Management Standard, so when clients hire a PRCA member they are guaranteed a quality service.
